Limassol

Covering the southwestern part of Cyprus, Limassol district is one of the six districts of the island. Its name, in Greek “Lemesos” (“Λεμεσός”), derives from the word “anamesos”, meaning “in between”, since in the antiquity the area was in the middle of the two ancient city-kingdoms of Amathus and Kourion.

Limassol district combines modernity and rich history. The main city comprises of the old city with its historic streets but also it houses luxurious hotels, residences and beautiful beaches, while the provinces include part of the Troodos mountains, the picturesque wine-producing villages, and impressive archaeological monuments and sites.
