Kyrenia

Kyrenia district covers an important part of the northern coast of Cyprus and of Pentadaktylos mountain range. It is the smallest district in administrative area and after the Turkish invasion of 1974, it is located in the occupied area.

The district is one of the richest in antiquities and monuments, but also it is home to picturesque shores and beautiful nature. In the towering mountains are the two crusader castles of Saint Hilarion and Buffavento, while further on is found the wonderful abbey of Bellapais and on the north it is situated Kyrenia’s horseshoe old harbour with its impressive 16th-century Castle.
