Ktima Christoudia, situated just outside Kato Drys village in the Larnaca region, embodies the fusion of Cypriot tradition, long history, and a profound passion for wine, offering visitors a unique and immersive wine-tasting experience.
The roots of the Winery can be traced back to 1992 when its creators embarked on a journey to cultivate their parental vineyards and craft their own wines. Over the years, the vineyards have flourished, now yielding over 200 tons of grapes, resulting in quality wines that resonate with the region's tradition, religion, history, and social life.
Located in the Larnaca district, on the southern slopes of the Troodos Mountains, at an altitude of 350 meters, the vineyards at Ktima Christoudia boast an array of diverse grape varieties, including Cypriot favorites like Maratheftiko, Xynisteri, and Yiannoudi.
The winemaking process at Ktima Christoudia is carried out with meticulous care and follows traditional methods. The grapes undergo sorting, destemming, and crushing before they ferment. Following fermentation, the wines age in numerous oak barrels, culminating in the perfect balance of aroma and flavor. The winery's repertoire encompasses a range of wines, including red, white, and rosé varieties, each offering a distinctive taste and character.
Visitors to the Winery have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Cypriot authenticity by exploring the vineyard and uncovering the secrets of Cyprus wines. The hospitable family welcomes guests to their specially designed facilities for an enriching tasting tour. This tour guides visitors through the entire winemaking process, from grape harvest to bottling. Moreover, the picturesque setting amidst the vineyards makes Ktima Christoudia an ideal venue for hosting special events.
Ktima Christoudia Winery transcends beyond being a mere winery. With its unique location, diverse grape varieties, adherence to traditional winemaking practices, and warm hospitality, Ktima Christoudia stands as a must-visit destination for both wine enthusiasts and culture seekers alike.
